Academy Car build

Caterham can supply the car fully built and road registered or in kit form. The majority of buyers choose the ‘ready to go’ option but I’ve chosen to build my own (as I did back in 2003 when I bought my first 7).  In reality it doesn’t save a lot of money but there is immense satisfaction in self-building plus of course the opportunities for buying shiny new tools are limitless!

Caterham supply a complete kit - this is what makes it different from the majority of ‘kit cars’, there is nothing to be sourced from donor vehicles or scrapyards - everything is supplied new and ready to use.

Rather than repeat everything that is in the Assembly Guide I will just make a few notes of the more challenging points experienced in the build.
